Earlier this month I shared our soccer saga. It concluded a few weeks ago.
I'm sad to announce it was the worst one yet.
There was a lot of crying, big ol' tantrum, and a removal from the field to calm down in the bathroom. All before the game started.
This is the only picture of him "on the field" we got that day.
It took us the entire game to convince him that if he wasn't going to play, we weren't leaving. He needed to root his team on. Quitting and going home were not an option for him that day.
We finally got him to go to the sideline and cheer for his team. About 30 seconds later he decided he wanted to play. As he ran on the field, time was called and they started lining up to high-five the other team.
Because it was the last game, they handed out certificates and medals to the players.
If you ask Cooper why he got a medal, he will tell you:
"I got a medal for watching soccer."
Maybe because we're crazy, we will try again next year.
